Mitchell is a developer based in Los Angeles, CA, and the co-founder of HashiCorp. He was part of the initial engineering team behind many of the company’s core products, including Vagrant, Packer, Consul, Terraform, Vault, Nomad, and Waypoint. Over his time at HashiCorp, he served as CEO for approximately four years, CTO for five years, and spent two years as an individual contributor before departing the company in 2023.
Today, Mitchell focuses most of his time on Ghostty, a new cross-platform terminal emulator.
